We believe in providing participants with ample opportunities to learn through their individual experiences and preferences. The ultimate goal of our program design is to help participants achieve basic skills in the Nepali language and culture in a limited span of time. We provide intensive, group and individual classes. We also provide a special course in learning to read and write in the Nepali script, known as Devnagari.

  2. Homestay & Homevisit Programs:

Cultural Destination Nepal arranges home-stay with traditional and semi-traditional Nepali families. Staying with a Nepali family provides an excellent opportunity to use ones new language skills and to learn more about Nepali culture. Within a home-stay situation, learning by doing provides the best reinforcement of language and cross-cultural skills learned in classroom situation.

Regardless of the type of host family with which you stay, there is one thing they all have in common, they all have a great willingness and desire to host individuals from other countries and to share their culture. Within the home-stay family, you will not be a guest or a visitor but will become a new member of the family. Living with a Nepali family will provide the opportunity to experience personal growth and will open communication channels among people from different countries and cultures.

  3. Cross-cultural Orientation Program:

A Puja in Progress Cultural Destination Nepal arranges a cross-cultural orientation program on cultural values across ethnic communities and ethnic languages for people who want to learn about Nepalese culture in a more structure setting. Understanding a country's culture is the most important factor in understanding the country. Within a country there will be many different people and communities, each with their own slightly different culture (tradition). This is particularly true in Nepal where there are many ethnic groups and each contributes its heritage to the cultural textile of Nepal.

  4. Translation and Interpretation:

Cultural Destination Nepal provides translation and interpretation services in Nepali-English for researchers and community workers who need such services to assist them in their work.

  5. Lectures:

Cultural Destination Nepal will organize lectures in several topics. Lectures will be on Religion, History, Politics, Socio-economy, Culture, Caste system, Geography, Women in Nepal, Children in Nepal, and the diversity found within the Nepali way of life.

Cultural Destination Nepal organizes a day trip program around the Kathmandu valley. There is a wealth of art, culture and nature waiting to be discovered. Enclosed amidst the lush green serenity and magnificent monuments that are specimens of traditional Nepali artistic workmanship.

  7. Study Tour:

Cultural Destination Nepal provides a study tour to familiarize with some sites of cultural and historical importance. The Kathmandu valley, the political, commercial and cultural hub of Nepal, originally known as the Nepal valley and a separate kingdom in itself contains three cities, each an artistic exposition of graceful temples and elegant palaces.

  8. Cultural Experiential Tours Programs:

Cultural Destination Nepal has designed a Cultural Experiential Tour Program to introduce participants to Nepal's diverse geographical and cultural environment and to help participants develop awareness and deeper understanding of cultural differences. The program is designed for people who would like to experience Nepal and its culture in a limited amount of time. Participants will develop new cross-cultural skills, personal confidence and new perspectives as they form a new way viewing the world. We offer individual or group tour programs throughout Nepal.

  9. Village Excursion Programs (Trekking):

A Nepali Village Cultural Destination Nepal arranges village excursion programs (trekking) through the mountains and villages of Nepal. While trekking, participants will be able to share in the traditional lifestyle of Nepali families and enjoy fascinating views of beautiful landscapes, snow capped peaks and Nepal's flora and fauna.

The best way to experience Nepal's unbeatable combination of natural beauty and cultural riches is to walk through them. The immense contrasts in altitudes and climates found here support on equally spectacular mixes of lifestyles, vegetation types and wild life. Trekking is thus like moving through a colorful tableau. It is more of a cultural experience than a wilderness expedition.

  10. Volunteer Nepal!

We believe that service to humanity is one of the most worthwhile experiences a person can have. As a result of this belief, Cultural Destination Nepal has designed its volunteer program for people who wish to learn about Nepal and its culture and custom by living as a member of a Nepali family and doing volunteer work in various fields.

During the program, participants will become a member of a host family and will share in family activities and responsibilities. They will also spend time contributing to a community through volunteering and sharing their skills with Nepalese. By participating in the program it is hoped that participants will experience personal growth as well as open communication channels among different countries and cultures.
